Linksys EA9500 Triband Review | Top Rated Wireless Router

Linksys EA9500 Triband(Wireless Router)

Another amazing and brilliant performing router from the Linksys with many additional features for large homes and offices. Although it is a little bulky in size, the performance is overwhelming and the speed of transferring and streaming is mind-blowing. It is also very good for gaming. A little bit pricey but worth the money. Starting with the look, it is a decent looking router which is larger than most routers at this price and probably one of the largest devices we have seen which is a bit of a turn-off.

It comes with 8 adjustable but not removable antennas, three on one side, three on the other and two on the left). Also in the front are eight LED lights each for a different function that blinks when the device is setting up or booting and stable when the device is working okay. There is a large number of ports on the back which is a turn on.

Connectivity:

We have eleven ports, eight Gigabit LAN ports, one WAN port, one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port. This makes it an ideal and perfect device for a home with multiple users and devices that need to be connected to the router. The USB 3.0 is a fast and speedy connection. Another major feature that we don’t usually find is the TRI band technology with one 2.4GHz band and two 5GHz bands running at excellent speeds of 1000 Mbps and 2166 Mbps respectively. It supports the MU-MIMO technology that lets many devices use different streams for working rather than one as a whole. The MU-MIMO data streaming transmits data directly to the client rather than everywhere around.

The BeamForming technology sends signals directly to the client rather than making a set of signals around the house. The Linksys EA 9500 has passed the non-lagging connectivity test with no interruption for 48 hours straight. Additional features include 4T4R MIMO technology, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), beamforming technology, reset button. It also supports Seamless Roaming technology when paired with a Linksys Max-Stream Range Extender that lets the router and the extender work together to get you the strongest signals as you move around the area.

Pros

  • The Parental Controls are extremely good with an option to block HTTP sites.
  • 9 Gigabit LAN ports for connecting more devices.
  • Speedy and fast wifi performance.
  • Seamless roaming, a technology useful for extending network.

Cons

  • Too many specs
